International fund purchases two Dutch residential portfolios

News 6 Dec 2018

An international institutional fund managed by Rubens Capital Partners has acquired two residential portfolios from Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance. It concerns a portfolio of BPL Pensioen and a portfolio of Pensioenfonds van de Metalektro (PME) consisting of 345 and 376 dwellings, respectively. Capital Value advised Syntrus Achmea on the sale. Rubens Capital Partners was involved in the transaction on behalf of the buyer. The legal support was provided by Core Notariaat and Loyens & Loeff.

Kees van Harten, managing director Capital Value: “There is a large interest from international investors in Dutch homes. Our recent survey among international investors shows that they have EUR 12 billion available in the next three years. International investors can thus give the Dutch housing market an enormous boost. By buying older assets from Dutch investors, Dutch investors can in turn invest in rejuvenating and making their portfolio more sustainable.”
